Our third event saw us set up on the 23rd of May at the fabulous Opus Restaurant in the heart of Birmingham city centre ready to welcome everyone to our seminar ‘Is The Office Dead?’
We enjoyed great attendance with professionals from all manner of companies and backgrounds, who all left enthused and engaged from listening to our line-up of industry experts.
The Q&A session and post-event networking resulted in insightful and interesting experience being shared.
The speakers came from a range of backgrounds and viewpoints; from insights into Rhino’s take on the future office through to the impact of people and HR in the workplace. However, the pending event title ‘Is the Office Dead?’ was intentionally rhetorical for the audience to define their own answer.
Our speeches orientated around the need for change from the top down – CEO’s, directors and managers need to be confidently supporting the seemingly daunting task of transferring from rigid offices to agile working. The most cutting edge, wellness-orientated work space can become a disjointed and confusing environment if not fully supported by decision makers and managerial roles within the organisation.
We also learnt the importance of the often-forgotten HR within this change. Have you ever considered a people plan to support and enable development of staff is crucial when redesigning or creating from scratch a new workplace for your organisation? Not only does this address the ever-present challenge of talent attraction and retention, but staff will undoubtedly perform better to portray their appreciation as they're being valued as a crucial member of the team.
With such a positive response from our guests, it’s shown that shared learning and interaction not only helps to breakdown common misconceptions with office fit-out, design and the thinking/consultation process when designing your office, but also shows how much though and expertise is needed to ensure your business continues to grow and flourish.
Going by the great feedback we received, we hope to see you at the next one – watch this space!
